Americans abandon European fashion over taxes and returns. A famous name buys you nothing when checkout feels like a trap.

Editor's Spotlight

I think cheaper AI makes dependable ecommerce execution a stronger competitive advantage for luxury brands. Discovery investment earns little when shoppers cannot confidently complete the purchase.

Anthropic priced Haiku 5.5 75% below Haiku 4.5, while BoF Insights and Amazon Fashion & Sports identify basic ecommerce failures as the main barrier to online sales. WWD reports Americans abandon European fashion purchases over taxes and complicated returns, exposing the friction cheaper discovery leaves untouched. Gap's AI styling offers a case for better discovery, but cannot resolve those purchase barriers.
